The Holy Island of Lindisfarne

The harbour and surrounding land are managed by Holy Island of Lindisfarne Community Development Trust for the benefit of our island community.

There are opportunities for film and photography shoots around the harbour - we suggest booking well in advance.

The inner harbour, The Ouse, has moorings for local boats and also some for the convenience of visiting vessels. There is a limited amount of onshore space for boat storage. By arrangement, pleasure craft and canoes can be launched from the harbour.

If the harbourmaster is not available, landing and harbour dues can be paid in the village at the 'Lindisfarne Centre'.

The public are cautioned that this is a busy 'fishing harbour' in regular commercial use by our fishing community.

The harbour area also provides a base for Holy Island Coastguard operations.

Please take care when walking in this area. Land is typically uncultivated and rough underfoot. Listen out for vehicles and be prepared to give way.

A number of trading concessions operate in the harbour area.

Visitors’ vehicles are not permitted without authorisation.
